Sofia is the capital of Bulgaria,
We were totally disappointed.
We saw all the most important tourist spots and with each visit the disappointment grew. The city looks like it's stuck in the 1990s, it's dirty, a bit seedy, sidewalks, crooked and potholed streets. There's no flash or anything like that.
Even the most important monuments of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral are dirty and neglected, and the inside needs a general renovation.
Despite its rich history (city under the rule of Philip of Macedon and Alexander the Great) and the discovered ruins of Serdica and Roman rule, we definitely feel better in Skopje.
The evening walk was the most interesting, when the demons wake up
Overall, the city had nothing to offer us, a weekend is enough.
