The second four-year edition of the Crown of the Owl Mountains has started in Nowa Ruda.

From Nowa Ruda through Wolibórz, Fir tree, Ostroszowice, Kietlice, Oat, Piława Górna, Key, Olbrachcice Wielkie, Stoszowice, Budzów, Silver Mountain, New Kłodzko Village to Mount St.. Anna in Nowa Ruda. The route chewed and spat out me, but didn't beat me!
The legs after a large slice of bread were not “the freshest” and I found out about it painfully on the first driveway. I did not realize, that it will be so hard, I didn't know what awaited us.
On the Woliborska Pass I managed to overtake two cyclists, however, at the exit they drove away and since then I rode with my tail saying race end. I fought for the Silver Mountain Pass, where I managed to overtake the cyclist again, but I did not manage to cover the entire driveway – I waved my hand at the organizer's car and told them to go – I will reach the finish at my own pace. I dropped the gauntlet, they asked if I was fine, I replied, yes. They informed me, that I was to follow the road traffic regulations and they rushed forward followed by the police and a string of cars.

I was furious, it was left to the finish line 18 km. Maciek was waiting for me at the top and I fell apart. However, I kept going and a million ideas were born in my head. The asphalt was terrible, leaky, uneven it increased the difficulties. I pulled myself together and made up my mind, that I am going to the finish line. I felt sorry for the kilometers I had driven and the fights were in vain. The third cyclist reached us and the three of us went to the top of St.. anny – 2,5 km and average slope 12% gusting 16%. I honestly admit, that I was riding a bicycle – I drove only two sections with a lower slope and of course the finish line. I met the limit and received warm congratulations from the judge and organizers. They did not count, that I will come and finish the race, even more in the limit. Maciek made a mistake in the route he added 3 km and was the last one at the finish line, but also in the limit!

I am unimaginably proud of myself, on 65 km with altitude difference 1000, another day and 65 km from 1100 superiority. The route was much more difficult with worse asphalt, holes and nightmarish driveways, including the paved one.
We will try to get the crown and complete the cycle. Piława Górna is ahead of us (2023), Srebrna Góra (2024) and Pieszyce (2025). All routes have differences in the range of 1000m!
