About that, We knew that the weather would be terrible a few days before the race. The forecasts showed inexorably 100% rainfall, heavy rainfall. I decided to spare the ram and my new one “The return” wrapper, I rode a bike with a straight handlebars and wider tires, where I felt safer. Even at home, before leaving for Sobótka, we decided, that we are going just to get to the finish line, there was no question of racing in such conditions.
It was raining on the spot, it was windy and cold. Odebraliśmy pakiety, many people resigned from the start. I stood in the sector and managed to get wet even before take-off. Zdziwiłam się, there were quite a few women for such dire conditions. We heard many nice words from the organizer and we took off. The longest exit on the route and TO. It happened a few minutes before my ride through – I saw but did not know, I didn't think.
I struggled with a strong headwind, I fought for the finish line, several times I felt like quitting the bike and racing. I was happy at the finish line, that I arrived although drenched, blown to the wind and cold. Decorations have been canceled. Nie wiedzieliśmy, we only found out at home, that the accident was fatal.
I sympathize with the family but also with the organizers. This is the worst that can happen at a competition. I saw death in a running competition in Milan half-marathon. The runner ran to the finish line, he fell over and died. I saw a very serious accident at a cycling competition, where a cyclist's life was fought for a long time and I saw this one. Does it change my approach to the competition? Nie, are meant to be a celebration, joy and pleasure. I always think about the next races, not worth risking your health for minutes. You know, anything could happen, and my broken leg is the best example of this…

Buckets of spilled hatred make me very sad, though I knew, that it will happen. I do not blame, even a little bit of organizer. Everyone is an adult and takes off at their own risk. The route was secured and guarded. I felt safe, and that it is raining and slippery? The organizer was to cancel the competition? I will repeat again – we are adults.
It was supposed to be a cycling year, now I don't know if the cycle will be played. It would be a shame, but will respect any decision of the organizer.
